Google Fi Blocked Numbers
If you're dealing with persistent spam callers or people you simply never want to hear from again, standard phone blocking sometimes isn't enough. Often, a blocked caller can still be sent directly to your voicemail. I hated the fact that they could still leave voicemails that would then pop up as notifications on my MacBook.
I wanted a way to completely block them from ever getting near my devices, and thankfully, if you are a Google Fi customer, there's a fantastic solution.
Network-Level Blocking
Google Fi allows you to block numbers at the network level. Once you enter their number through the Google Fi web portal or the mobile app, the block is absolute. When the blocked number tries to call you, instead of ringing through to voicemail, they will get a classic "the phone number is out of service" recording.
This means:
- They won't be able to leave a voicemail.
- They won't be able to text you.
- You won't even receive a notification that they tried to contact you.
It's the ultimate digital boundary. If you value your privacy and peace of mind, taking advantage of Google Fi's network-level blocking feature is an absolute game-changer.
